What is Empire and Razorwerks doing to TIR anyway? The old screen shots from when this game was World Sports Car looked pretty cool, but recent screen shots of the game in its new form are no better than SCGT (if even that good - and how is is SCGT??? OLD! -- but still fun ).
I guess I was hoping for cars with detail more along the line of what you see in the new nascar series games.
The market is ripe with upcoming GT roadracing games, It'd sure be nice to have something cool to play while I wait for Racing Legends. Something that isn't designed as a console game first! |

WSC was developed from West Brothers (working on Racing Legends now). Don't know how much code did Razorworks get from Westies. But if you look at old TIR screenies, the ones we posted now look A LOT better
I think the phyiscs will be more on arcadish side.. we'll see.

the game is complete crap and has console written all over it you bang into another car you just can knocked to the side abit think rage racer ,ridge racer its the same type of crap physics unless the harder dificulty levels have proper crashs and stuff but i doubt it maybe i will see later.
i thought this game was gonna be great a true racing sim to find out it would be more suited on the ps1 drving around aint fun either i hooked upo my wheel and pedals thinking it would be fun to find it boring i would probably have just as much fun with the arrow keys.
i really hope none of you buy this game without playing a demo 1st because you will be really disapointed |

Yaeh. It really doesn't live up to a hardcore sim. Great graphics and easy setup interface with the race engineer feature. |

WSC screenies looked good because that's ALL they ever were. Shame.

I been playing this for a couple nights now and its actually pretty good. I wasn't a big fan of Empire after that Ford Racing. What I like about it is the races are only 5 laps/gt, 6 laps/gts and 6/pro at the proffesional setting.
Its does lack a damage feature and granted contact with other cars only provide sparks and smoke. The graphics took a bit of tweaking. I had to settle for a medium setting but still get agood frame rate with dynamic lighting and shadows on. I would call this game (not a sim) a good quik speed fix.
Provoking other teams on the track with the bump and grind seems to add a rivalry throughout the rest of the series. Moving up the ranks was also a cool feature although I think the owners could be a little more pissed when finishing last. Running the race engineer during practice really helps with setting up the car when your setup challanged like I am. The setups do differ on what your ride is. I don't like the fact you can only save 5 setups at a time. So running the race engineer for the class and track your on can be annoying. I did not do any of the challange races, or used the car config. or the trainer so I can't comment on any of that. No rain and so far I had dusk/fog on tracks.
SCGT is still one of the best and you can't compare the two. It would be like apples to oranges. To put a price on it, I would be comfortable saying its worth 20-30 dollars cdn. Any more would upset the thrifty. And again this is no way near a hardcore sim. |
