Hi,
Does anyone out there know if the F1RC patch will become a reality? I've e-mailed Ubisoft about it and have yet to receive a reply. I don't want to shell over $50.00 if the game is unplayable. Hotlaps don't mean anything if you end up punted off the track in the race.

A bit better? A bit better? I still think the game shouldn't have been released with the AI as it is now.
The patch was supposed to be released some weeks ago, Ubi announced April 16 to be the release date.
Around that date news got out that the patch was ready but had to be reviewed by the FIA because of the license. Around the same time a site supplying 3rd party extensions to the game had to be closed, because it was hosted on a server owned by Ubi and the FIA does not allow the patches to be hosted by the producer of the original game. (Ubi also disapproves 3rd party patches to licensed games)
Since then, it has been quiet.
<end of facts, pure speculation below>
Why? Probably the FIA is very slow in reviewing, maybe the patch isn't good enough, or maybe FIA has told Ubi to change the format of the datafiles to make the game harder to manipulate. (speculatimus maximus

I only use it for hotlapping.
Racing AI is almost impossible without a decent patch. |

Your right JZ, it is only good for hotlapping, racing is totally impossible with the AI the way it is.(maybe thats why the're not releasing it in U.S. yet)
When the rest of the game looks so good, I can't imagine how they could release the game as is, did they not have any test drivers on this game ? |

So is the game that bad? Or is just the AI?
I was looking at purchasing this whenever it reaches my local store. |

Is it of no concern to anyone, that Ubisoft does'nt even have a pc site with reference to this game (after so much release time), for the english speaking community? I don't have a problem running my version...but would'nt you think that after all this time a site would be up to address the concerns of the many folks who purchased it, and are having problems? I won't have a support site here in USA cause the game is'nt out here,so I navigate to the British site...and...nothing. A stupid flash loading screen..with links to a playstation ad..even though you clicked to go to the pc version.I'd be "mad as hell" if I lived in Britain. |

You should buy it JD. It's my favorite F1 game by far. FIA is checking the patch and they haven't given a green light yet so Ubi can't release it.
I think USA release will have all the fixes that patch will bring and thus will be a must buy |
