didn't realize it'd been that long since i last raced!
Got through the Kansas race earlier today. Starting 40th wasn't all fun. the first 30 laps involved 3 cautions, 2 for me getting loose and the third for me accidentally spinning out Harvick (eventual race winner). How's that for karma, eh? lol.
because the slower cars kept bunching up the field into small packs, i laid back and let them sort it out until i got to the slower cars. Hell, with more than 180 laps to go, why rush it? By lap 145, i had made it to the lead, while driving through slowed cars due to Nemechoke spinning in turn 3. The run of 110 laps under green was fun. I made my way up to 23rd, pitted, came out 26th cause i slid through my pit stall and had to back up.
Mark Martin was a handful for me when i got the lead. Kyle Busch as well. But i managed to lead 88 laps! There was a notable top 5 finisher: Robby Gordon who led 3 laps to finish 5th. Dale Jr finished a dissapointing 29th after getting caught up in slower traffic. (he's still in the #8 car right now)
After losing the lead thanks to lapped traffic with 3 to go, Harvick and myself managed to lose Kyle Busch, who would finish 3rd. Dave Blaney was a force on the track. Runing in the top 10 all day. He finished 8th.
Now it's on to Lowe's Motor Speedway...... And hopefully i won't wreck out of it. lol

Bank of America 500
Well that was fun! Who would have thought that? David Gilliland and David Ragan (still a rookie here) hounded me for the longest time, along with Tony Raines. (yes, Tony FRICKIN' Raines!)
I had the wrong differential in my car, but still managed to hold my own. I did close the gap between myself and Kyle Busch to 358 points. Worked my way from 19th to 7th with 5 races to go. Yipee! lol.
this one was weird. Ok, i started 31st then managed to work my way to the front during the first round of pit stops before forking it over. However, i stayed out a few laps too many hoping for a caution that never came. came off pit road in 16th! The frantic pace of the race left many many cars a lap down or more by lap 100. Only 2 cautions, both for AJ Allmendinger. Went green for a 135 lap stretch when the caution flew for me getting loose trying to keep from hitting Kasey Kahne off turn 4. a 14 car pile-up ensued 23 laps after the restart. Included the likes of Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Jeff Burton, Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin, JJ Yeley and Dale Jr. It happened half a lap ahead of me, so i was able to slow it down to avoid getting into the wreck myself. It started when Brian Vickers got loose, then Matt Kenseth throwing him back onto the racing groove in front of oncoming traffic.
Oh my god. because i had the wrong differential gear in my car, i had a hard time pulling off the corners. This proved to be a pain in my ass. I did manage to lead a scattered 88 laps due to this. 23 laps in one go, and that was near the end of the race. What shocked me most was where Carl Edwards finished. He got lapped by then leader Kasey Kahne on lap 45! Um, wow! The cars which normally ran in the back were running up front and the cars who normally run up front were road blocks! Only 9 cars managed to finish on the lead lap thanks to a caution during green flag pit stops on lap 223.
Click here for the finishing order. It may shock you, but it wasn't faked!
Martinsville is next; the Subway 500. Should be interesting because my car hasn't made it past 1/3 distance in the last 5 races.
