I just installed SBK2001 on my Windows XP machine that has SP2 on it and when I follow all of the directions above it goes as far as less than one second of showing the start of the race before it errors out on the SBK2001.EXE file. Any ideas?

My color depth is at 16bit, the exe is running as if Win98/ME mode. The sounds options in the game are NOT enabled. Anything else I need to do? I followed the directions exactly and it sometimes even errors out before i even get in the race. What the heck do i do? Also what are bikesets? What things can you download?

Well I have the same problem, and it is due to the integrated SoundMAX sound setup. I have tried everything and have singled out this as the only fix. All of that changing the colour to 16-bit, and running the program in Windows 98 compatibility is bull. If you go to control panel, then open system, click the hardware tab and then select device manager. Go to sound, video and game controllers and disable SoundMAX. Your game should now run perfectly fine without any of those other fixes or patches, the only problem is you have no SOUND! I would appreciate it if someone could figure out how to play this game with sound or recommend some substitute to SoundMAX or something.
