Crying or Very sad

Jumps back to desktop after about 5 seconds of bkack screen on startup, i dont think this has anything to do with XP sp2 as this started when i had 98.
Tried reinstalling it deleting anything in that dir. Never works!

Is my cd corrupted, is it a graphics driver problem.

Please could someone tell me a way to fix this, i will be very greatful.

have you installed 0.96 patch?
