I got scared off from this type of game after that huge Monster Truck Garage demo that came out a couple of weeks ago. Guess I'm just not a bad enough tatooed bad@$$ to play those kinds of games. The theory for this title sounds ok but I'm not going to hassle the huge download and file transfer to my gaming PC just to uninstall it and delete the file in under two minutes like I did the Monster Truck one. |

Monster Garage even as a show is overrated. I've seen some his 'best' projects in NY Motorshow last year - looked much worse in life than on TV...
I think HR idea could have been done better. With very good graphics it might have been at least a decent game. Needless to say, HR now just has no chance.

Well it had to be tested I cant help but to love the conceptual idea of Hot Rod Garage to Glory. Here you actually get to buy junk cars, strip them of parts, sell them or stockpile parts and stuff in your garage during your career. Repair and trim engines and put them into another chassis. Still loosing? Throw in some nitro and press your machine to the limit by changing the fuel mixture just before the race. There are lots of internal engine parts that can wear out or brake down during a race if your not careful. That and more stuff on your chassis like for example springs, exhausts and drive train parts. You need to take risks and plan your strategy carefully before proceeding or you will just throw your hard earned cash away.
This low budget title got plenty of open ended tactical possibilities regarding hot rod building and racing. Unfortunately it dont feature any fancy driving or handling physics and most gamers will be put off by the somewhat cartoonist and part ugly visuals (some car models are pretty nice though).
Im still waiting for a realistic car building and racing sim with a similar concept. Mostly because of my passion for Yankee cars and roaring V8 engines
