Didn't have a pc capable of running the game until very recently. I have it installed now, basic version, plus the patch that gets round the DX8 issue. I am downloading the hardcore physics patch as we speak, and will look for other stuff.
One question - I don't seem to have any "car" sounds at all, except during the intro movies. I've been reading about the tyres squealing, and the collision noises, but I don't hear them, or the engines. Is that normal, part of its "arcade appeal?" I can get all the irritating music, and the managers voice over the radio, so some sound is there.
My 6 year old son loves it, so am thinking of keeping it as is for him and reinstalling it for me and then adding the hardcore stuff. What is the best way to do this? If I make a separate folder, and call it something like "TIR - Hardcore" and then install it there with the extreme stuff added, will that work?
