This radio-controlled vehicle has three modes, transforming from a compact car to a racer of two different lengths with the press of a button on the remote. The hinged body automatically extends as the Rewinder moves forward and contracts into compact mode in reverse. Kids can also "rewind" the car in the middle of stunts, such as jumps or 360-degree spins, for more super-cool action. The 49 MHz radio control moves the car forward, reverse, left, or right and is comfortable for smaller hands to hold. Buttons are easy to engage; however, the vertical button commands for left and right turns are not the most intuitive. The Rewinder operates on one TMH FlexPak NiMH battery and one 9-volt battery (not included) and is rugged enough to stand up to rough adventures. --Cristina Vaamonde
