So you're having a little trouble in beating the scenarios in Nascar Heat? Team BHMS has gone through the BEAT THE HEAT scenarios and logged down the best ways to complete the challenge. There are 36 total scenarios plus 3 bonus runs that come to a total of 39 all together. Here is a list of all the names of the scenarios. SET 1 - SUPERSPEEDWAY:
SET 2 - SUPERSPEEDWAY:
SET 3 - SHORT COURSE:
SET 4 - ADVANCED TECHNIQUES:
SET 5 - NASCAR RACE:
SET 6 - HIGH OCTANE:
SET 7 - BONUS SET:
All of the scenarios are run in Normal Mode, which allows you to be more aggressive than usual in bumping your way to the front of the pack in some of the scenarios. With this in mind Normal Mode will help you in most cases but can hurt you in others. Beat the Heat is really a fresh new twist to a racing game. Now let's get started, and we hope you have as much fun as we did completing this for you. SET 1 - SUPER SPEEDWAY 1. FIRST TURN The object here is to get through the turn at Daytona the fastest way possible. You are placed in the car just before going into the turn in the middle of the track. At the start of the turn, ease your way to the bottom of the turn. Don't make any sudden jerks of the wheel to get to the apron or you'll scrub off speed and that's a bad thing. Coming out of the turn, ease your way a little from the apron and hold your line. Any sudden movement will cost you in precious tenths of a second to get the gold. Stay low and get that gold! 2. MULTIPLE BENDS Multiple Bends is the same as First Turn but at Talledega and more turns. Use what you learned in First Turn and this one should be a snap! 3. FIRST CHALLENGERS Here we start to mix it up with some other cars. The object here is to finish 1st. You start in last place in the middle behind Bobby Labonte and Dale Jarrett. If your car isn't in this spot, exit out and restart it. We found that the cars will be in a different spot when you go back in each time but there is only one position that is ideal to make it an easy win. Going into turn one drop in behind Bobby and draft. Before getting out of the turn, push Jarrett up the track a bit to get in the middle to make it 3 wide. Coming out of the turn you should be lined up right behind Dale Earnhardt for a good draft. Use the draft off of Dale's car to slingshot yourself past him about half way down the backstretch and position you car on the inside, before the turn. Once in the turn you should be past Dale enough to place your car in front of him. Stay in front of Earnhardt. at all costs! He is an aggressive driver and has a very fast car! Block him to the end! 4. DRAFT TO PASS Here you are behind Bobby Labonte as your teammate. Don't use any other car to draft to the front besides Bobby. He is a lot faster than the others and will drag you along in the draft to catch Dale Jarrett up front. This one takes a little patience. Remember not to make any sudden moves as this will let Bobby get away from you. Stay on Bobby's bumper as best as you can. In the final lap on the backstretch you should be on Jarrett's tail. Just follow Bobby around him and get that gold! 5. PROVING GROUNDS You're in 4th place at Dega. Going into turn one get low and draft Jarrett. On the backstretch, slingshot yourself past Jarrett on the inside making it 3 wide with Steve Parks on the outside. Terry Labonte will line up behind you for the draft and push you to the front. Once you get there, use your mirror to block any attempt at passing you. By the last lap you will be at least a car length ahead and onto an easy victory! 6. DAYTONA You're on the outside pole. In this scenario, getting to the front is easy. Staying there is another story! At the start you must hold your line. Bobby Labonte will get in behind you to draft for a boost to the front. Once there you must use your mirror! Dale Earnhardt is on your tail and he's very anxious to get around you. Block any car that tries to pass and you'll win this one, no sweat! SET 2 - SPEEDWAY 1. GETTING OFF THE GAS Here you are at Dover, "The Monster Mile". Getting the fastest time here for the gold will take some practice. When you get to the turn, let off the gas and brake lightly for a split second to set yourself up for the entry into the turn. Make sure you are at the wall in the beginning of the turn. Coast your way down to the apron to the apex of the turn. Once you get to this point, stand on the gas and let the car bring you through the turn to the outside at the wall. Don't over-steer going through the turn as this will scrub off precious speed and time. The object here is to find the shortest and fastest way through the turn. Good luck! 2. AROUND THE EGG Ready for a stripe? The track is Darlington and it has an unusual shape, much like an egg. Here you have to have patience through the turn or you will collect the wall at the other end of the turn. Hence the "Stripe'. As soon as you are placed into the car, look to your right and you'll see an opening in the wall. Use this as a marker to apply your brakes. Steer the car down to the white line after applying the brakes and make sure the car isn't trying to push to the wall. If it is, you will need to apply the brakes a little harder next time. When the car settles into the turn, ease back into the gas going through the turn practically on the white line. When you start to see the front straight, stand on the gas and you'll miss getting your stripe, but won't miss the gold! 3. SPLIT THE MIDDLE Here at Texas Speedway you are in 16th place. I guess what was intended here was to go between the 4 cars in front of you when placed into the car. Forget it. Go low into the turn and weave through the pack as fast as you can. Stay low as much as you can, even if you have to nudge your way through. 1st place is very possible here. 4. PASS OR BE PASSED Here you get to beat the Intimidator at his own game. The track is Las Vegas and you're in 4th with Dale Earnhardt on your bumper. You have to watch your mirror to keep him behind you. You'll come up on Mark Martin. Pass Mark low and keep Dale just behind you both. If you do this just right Dale will get hung up with Mark and you'll cruise to an easy win. 5. PILE UP You're on the last lap coming into turn 3 in 15th place at Lowe's. There's a wreck in the front and cars are all over the place. Don't brake at all, even though that is your first instinct. Instead pass Chad Little and go onto the apron. If you're fast enough you will avoid the wreck up on the track and pass Dale Jarrett and Bobby Hamilton to take first place. You might have to reload the scenario a few times to get the cars in the right positions to pull it off. 6. WORST TO FIRST Back to Dover. You're in the pits getting tires. Don't wait to get placed into the car. Stomp the gas as soon as the screen pops the race up. Go out onto the track cutting off anyone that's there. You'll have to nudge cars out of the way through the turns to get to the leader who is pretty far out front. Always stay low through the turns. There are 10 laps to do this in and you should be on the leader's bumper by the last lap. Take him low in the turns and drive hard through the turns to get away from him. Good luck! SET 3 - SHORT COURSE 1. GO SLOW The object here is to get the fastest lap at Martinsville. You have to go flat out until the last possible moment to brake. Hit the brakes sharply and try not to scrub off too much speed in the turn. Take the shortest route through the turn at the apex. To do this you have to brake at the outside corner of the concrete. If you're too fast, you'll push to the wall. Steer the car to the apex at the apron, making sure you are going slow enough not to spin the tires, and then stomp the gas and allow the car to drift out to the outside of the concrete patch coming up off of the turn. You'll be sure to get the fastest lap with 10th's to spare. 2. HOT LAP You have to get a good qualifying lap here at New Hampshire. Basically what you have learned in the previous scenario can be applied here as well. You have to apply the same driving through the turns as you have in other scenarios for the shortest and fastest way through. This one is fairly easy. 3. BRUISER AT BRISTOL This one is fun! You have to block the three cars behind you so Bobby Labonte can win. If they get beside you hit them in the doors and run them up the track, but you have to watch the other cars as well in your mirror. Block them at all cost! You'll see Bobby come up from behind in your mirror. If you have to run the other cars up the track to give Bobby the inside by all means do so. Have fun! 4. TROUBLE AHEAD You're in 16th place at Richmond with just enough fuel to finish. There are cars pitting in and out of the pits so you have to watch out for them. As for the rest of the race you'll have to really get aggressive here. Run your car as hard as you can into the turns, even if you have to nudge or practically run over the other cars. Don't waste any time here or you'll miss the win and the gold! 5. THE MASTERS Terry Labonte, Dale Earnhardt and Rusty Wallace are at Bristol to teach you a lesson. Well here's your chance to give them a taste of their own medicine. Run these guys as hard as you can into the corners. Drive as aggressively as you did in the previous scenario. This can get very competitive but you'll do just fine. 6. BLOCK BABY BLOCK You're in a beat-up Square D car at Martinsville. You are in the lead and there are a bunch of cars behind you that want the win just as bad. With two laps to go they are trying to get around you to win the race. Block these guys at all costs, using your mirror to watch their movements. Just like the name of the scenario says, "Block Baby Block"! SET 4 - ADVANCED TECHNIQUES 1. DRAFTING You're coming out of turns 3 and 4 at Daytona. Stay behind Bobby Labonte to achieve the fastest lap speed. Don't try to pass him and remember not to make any sudden moves with the steering that will cost you in precious time. 2. THE 'RIGHT WAY' Nascar cars do turn right! Here you have to get through turn 1 at Watkin's Glen for a fast time. The scenario that you had involving Martinsville for the fast lap will apply here except that you have to turn right. Remember that braking and throttle response go hand in hand. Too much of either and you'll miss the gold. 3. THE 'S' CURVE At the Glen again. You have to get through the S turns for a fast time. Coming into the turn you'll have to pick the straightest line through. Hit the brakes at the 2nd to last marker. Downshift to 2nd gear. Get back onto the gas as fast as possible. You can use the rumble strips through the turns, however don't leave the track at all or you'll have to start over. 4. THE 'U' TURN Turn 11 at Sears point can be a bear! When you get placed into the car look to your left at the building for the braking markers. At the 200 marker brake and downshift to first. You RS shifter guys, go through the gears down to first. Ease through the turn making sure not to push. You should be able to get the gold from here. 5. PIT STOP You have 10 laps to go at Phoenix and you have to pit and so does everyone else. There is a bug in the game. If you pit right away there's a good chance that none of the other cars will pit at all. So we suggest you go one more lap, then pit. By doing so there will be a couple of cars with fresh tires but they are really no competition for you. Just race as fast as you can and you'll be up front in no time. 6. MR. CONSISTENCY As the title of this scenario suggests, you have to be consistent here. Scrubbing your tires here will really hurt you. You won't need the brakes here but you will need to have some throttle management through the turns. Stay as low as you can through the turns and don't push. Use the markers on the wall for when to lift off the throttle and when to get back on. This one will take some practice but it's a good learning tool for when to use the gas and when not to. SET 5 - NASCAR RACE 1. ATLANTA You're in 15th place with 5 laps to go and you need to win for the gold. You're placed on the inside row on the front stretch. When it starts there seems to be a slight jerk to the right, probably from when the game just hands over control to you. Be careful here because if you drift and hit Terry Labonte in the door it will slow you down enough that you'll miss the win and the gold. For that matter you need to avoid rubbing doors with any of the cars as that will slow you down. Stay low through the turns and use the draft to slingshot yourself past them going into the turns. This one will take you more than one time to get the gold but it does teach you how to use the draft to your advantage. 2. NORTH CAROLINA Here you'll have to out-drive the other cars into the turns. You will have to nudge your way through the turns on the low side to gain positions. Once you get to 5th , the competition isn't as easy to get around. Don't spend too much time getting around them, as you'll miss the win if you do. You should position yourself on the inside of them before you get to the turns. Good Luck! 3. RICHMOND Another 8 lap shootout. Again, try not to hang alongside the other cars too long as they will lean on you and slow you down. Out-drive them into the turns and watch out for the pit road entrance. 4. BRISTOL Bring your junk to this one! Here it's a matter of grinding your way to the front and staying there for the win. 5. SEARS POINT You have 2 laps to go and you have to drive into the turns to gain position. Don't overshoot the turns and you'll do fine. 6. DAYTONA Here you get to test your drafting and strategy against the top 15 drivers in Nascar. Patience cannot be stressed enough here. Once in front, block anyone that tries to pass. There are 5 laps left in the race to get the job done. Rubbing doors will only slow you down, and staying in the draft will help get you to the front. SET 6 - HIGH OCTANE 1. SPLASH AND GO When placed into the car, get to the inside and pit right away. While going down pit row hit your F9 key for fuel until it says splash n' go. Hit your F10 key for no tires and F11 key for no repairs. Get out onto the track as fast as possible. Remember that your tires are worn and grip in the turns is minimal. The other cars are pitting for gas as well and you'll see your position get better as they leave the track for pit row. Other cars are faster than you but they are laps down and pose no threat to your win. 2. DON'T BLOW IT The track is Darlington. Your right front tire is down to the threads. If you push it too hard your tire will blow before the last lap. Pitting is not an option, as you don't have the time. You're in first with a fairly good lead and time to make this work. On the last lap in turns 3 and 4 the other cars are on your tail by this point and you need to fight them off for the win. Good Luck! 3. CHAMPION Here you get to drive Dale Jarrett's ford at the Homestead track where he won his championship in 1999. Now you get to recreate that event. To win the gold you have to out-drive the other cars into the turns and draft them as well to keep your speed up. Winning the gold will probably take more than one attempt. Remember not to rub doors, as this will slow you down. 4. DODGE AND WEAVE This can be a tough one if you let it get away from you! You're at Lowe's in first with a bunch of lead lap cars right behind you. Block them from passing you! While doing this you must drive in between the lapped cars and use them to hold up the cars behind you. It can get 3 wide in the turns, so be careful. There are only 5 laps to go but you have to really work to win the gold! 5. TEXAS STYLE Here the Labonte brothers team up to get to the front. There are 10 laps to go and you need to win for the gold. You're in Terry's car and Bobby is helping you to get to the front. Out-drive the other cars into the turns and use the draft to keep up your speed. Winning should be fairly easy here. 6. FATHER VS. SON You're in Dale Jr.'s car in the pits, right behind dear old dad. Don't wait to get placed into the car. Leave pit row immediately. Use the other cars to hang dad out to dry as much as possible. Block dad when you can. He has a faster car but he goes low into the turns behind the others cars. You can out-drive them on the outside here to pass dad at will. Do this type of maneuvering and you'll win the gold with ease. BHMS would like to say thank you for visiting our site. We hope that you will be successful in the last 3 scenarios. If you got this far in the first 36 scenarios, you should do well in the last 3. Good Luck! |
