Founded 2001, the FiHS F1 Internet Racing League grew out of the need for F1 fans to connect and race. Endeavoring to follow the most recent FIA rules, with a vibrant forum and close competition at all levels, this league provides a great home both for advanced sim racers and rank beginners looking to hone their skills. Our league currently has over 100 members, and we continue to grow every day.
We run two racing series; A formula one series is at the heart of our league, but we also run an rFactor fun league, which runs mini-series (usually 6-8 races) in different mods, which are always changing. Our premiere F1 league closely mirrors the real FIA F1 calander, with races usually held twice a month. Rules in this league are strict, and assists minimal. It is truly a test of not only speed, but endurance, performing race after race in a relatively long schedule. The only assists allowed are Traction Control, Auto Clutch, and Auto Shifting. We also enforce a 2 wheel rule which states that you may not intentionally go off track with more than two wheels more than once every two laps. This is to ensure realistic racing lines. Team selection usually starts 1-2 months before the start of the season, so usually at the end of January/beginning of February.
Our fun league is open to all, and we encourage everyone to join us. Races are held on Tuesday nights (around 6PM PST), and are usually timed events (right now they are 35 minutes). We have raced the Porsche Carrera Cup, the McLaren F1 mod, OWChallenge2006 BMW mod, and will continue to mix it up based on what the majority of people want to race at that time. There is no need to pick a team, or teammate, you can just show up and race any time. This league has members ranging from first time racers to seasoned veterans, so give it a try and see if itÂ’s fun for you. Each week a thread will be posted with a link to the track we are racing, and we also publish race results and championship standings, so make sure to visit the site to learn more.
