Racing CTS Trucks & WC Cars

Before we start, you will need the following files: CTS Mod | Official 1.1 Patch

Step 1: Go to "MY COMPUTER" -> open.

Step 2: Select the drive on your computer that you loaded “Nascar” Thunder 2003 to. On my PC it's my "E" drive. Your standard installation location by the average PC configuration is probably the "C" drive.

Step 3: Open "Program Files" folder.

Step 4: Open "EA Sports" folder.

Step 5: Open "Nascar Thunder 2003" folder.

Step 6: Open "Season03" folder.

Step 7: Open "VehiclesCTS" folder.

Step 8: Open the vehicle "make"(Ford, Chevy, or Dodge) folder that contains a truck that you like. If that vehicle is a Chevy truck, then open the "Chevy_trucks" folder. If that vehicle is a Dodge truck, open the "Dodge_trucks" folder... and so on. You get the idea I hope.

Step 9: Right Click on the folder that contains the vehicle files for the truck you want to use. A small selection window should appear. Choose "Copy" and left click on that.

Step 10: Now either minimize the screen or close it. I suggest you minimize it, just in case you make a mistake and have start over. This will save you some time finding your chosen vehicle again. Just maximize this screen again from the taskbar if you need it and you're already at the vehicle you chose.

Step 11: After you copy the vehicle file you want and minimize that screen, you should be back to your desktop view. Find an empty spot on the desktop and right click on it. The small selection window should appear again. Choose "Paste". This should paste a copy of the vehicle file that you chose onto the desktop. If this works… GOOD! If nothing happens, maximize your folder from the taskbar and right click on your vehicle file again and copy it again, minimize again, and try pasting it on the desktop again.

Step 12: Now it is time to make a "NEW FOLDER" you can do this by either going to " MY DOCUMENTS " on the desktop or once again going into the Start Menu to select "MY DOCUMENTS". When you have entered my documents look for where it says "MAKE NEW FOLDER" and left click on that. A new folder should appear somewhere in My Documents. This Folder has to be RENAMED or NAMED so that it matches to look just like the "Chevy_truck, Ford_truck, or Dodge_truck" folder that you found your vehicle in. You can also make a new folder by going on your desktop screen and right clicking on an open space. When the small selection window appears, left click on "NEW". Another selection window should appear. In this new window find where it says "FOLDER" and left click on the word "FOLDER". A new unnamed folder should appear on the desktop. Right click on that and you should get a pop-up window, in this new pop-up window choose "RENAME". Your new folder should now be set up for you to rename it. Type the name that you need (Chevy_truck, Ford_truck, or Dodge_truck)…as the new name. Congratulations! You have just created a new independent vehicle folder. Now, it's time to complete it. Your new folder now needs two files from the game installed into it, to give it power. You now need to go back into the folder that you found your truck in (Either Chevy_truck, Ford_truck, or Dodge_truck folder.) Inside of that folder there exist two files. One is a file called "(chevy_truck, ford_truck, or dodge_truck) "Microsoft Access Stored Process". There will also be a vehicle generation file called (chevy_truck, ford_truck, or dodge_truck)"Gen File". These are the two files you need to copy and paste inside your new (chevy_truck, ford_truck, or dodge_truck) folder, on the desktop. These two files are the files that actually cause your truck to exist inside the game. Once you have copied and pasted them into your new truck folder on the desktop, you will now be ready to put the vehicle file that you chose (and placed on the desktop), into your new truck folder. You can drag and drop it into your new truck folder or you can copy and paste it into the new truck folder you created.

Step 13: Copy and paste your selected vehicle folder (the one you copied onto the desktop, with chosen vehicle files in it) into the "new" truck folder that you've just created on your desktop. When this has all been accomplished successfully you are now ready to install your new (chevy_truck, ford_truck, or dodge_truck) folder into Nascar Thunder 2003's " Vehicle " folder.

Step 14: Navigate your way to the "VEHICLES" folder. To get there, you first should close all open windows, even if they are only still active in the taskbar. When you have closed all the open windows. You will now be ready to install your newly created vehicle folder into the game files. To navigate your way to the "VEHICLES" folder, follow this path: Desktop-Start-My Computer-(select the drive on your computer that Nascar Thunder 2003 is loaded on, on my computer it's my "E" drive, on your computer it’s whatever drive you installed it on.")"E" drive-Program Files-EA Sports-Nascar Thunder 2003-Season 03-"VEHICLES". If you have navigated correctly, you should now see the vehicle folders (Chevy, Dodge, Ford, PaceCar, PitCrewMaps, and Pontiac. These are the folders that contain your Nascar Thunder 2003 CARS. This is the place where you want to be!

Step 15: Minimize this window to the taskbar by going up to the far upper right corner and left clicking on the minimize button (the one with the minus sign.) You should now be looking at your desktop again. You should be able to see the "new" truck folder you created.

Step 16: Right click on the “New” truck folder that’s on your desktop. A small selection window should appear. Select "copy" from the small selection window when it appears.

Step 17: Go to the taskbar and re-maximize your "VEHICALS" folder by double clicking on "vehicles". When you can see inside of the vehicles folder again, find an empty Spot and right click. When the small selection window pops up, choose "paste". Your new truck folder (Chevy_truck, Ford_truck, or Dodge_truck) with your truck inside of it, should now be installed with the car folders. You should now have all 4, car folders, a “PaceCar” folder, a “PitCrewMaps” folder, and a truck folder, all inside of your "VEHICALS" folder.

If you did all of this correctly, and you already have the CTS mod & 1.1 patch installed, then you can now exit out of all windows, return to the desktop, start your game, find and select your driver’s name on the driver selection page, click on his name and see your driver background and truck, choose "OK" and begin racing your truck on the track with the cars. Enjoy!

WARNING: YOUR PROGRAMS FOLDER CONTAINS CRITICAL FILES THAT SHOULD NOT BE OPENED OR ALTERED IN ANY WAY.
