Ok, first things first.
- All your files in the CARS dir of your RBR directory should NOT be �Read Only�, so turn it off, cause standard it�s turned on.
- Put the Skin Selector . exe in its own directory.
- Make a backup of all your files in the CARS dir, and this is how you SHOULD do it: (1) Copy the content of the cars folder into the root of your Skin Selector exe-file. (2) Go into each folder of each car. In every car folder you must create a default folder. Copy the content of each car into their default folder. Each default folder in each car in your backup, so don�t loose it.
- Start the RBR Skin Selector EXE and it will prompt you that you should show where your it can find your RBR directory. Show it by clicking Action => Show RBR Dir. Select the directory and double click on it. It is now saved in a little file and you don�t have to do it again.
Installing skins of a specific car, let�s take the XSARA:
- Make a new folder in the XSARA folder, for example XSARA_Stohl. Copy all the files of the XSARA_Stohl pack into that folder. Make sure that there is a subfolder in the XSARA_Stohl folder called textures with all the *.dds files in it.
- Start the Skin Selector tool, if you select XSARA you will see 2 selectable skins: default and XSARA_Stohl. Pick XSARA_Stohl and click Action => Install Skin to RBR Dir.
- Start the game and enjoy the skin.
A small Extra:
- If you add a screen.jpg in the skin folder you will have a preview in the Skin Selector program, the best is to give it a format of 640x480.
A small problem:
- Make sure ALL your files in Cars and Skin Selector directory are NOT set Read-Only. The files wont overwrite if set to read only. |
