Sardis Lake Speedway for Dirt Track Racing by Ratbag.
THIS TRACK WAS MADE USING ONLY ORIGINAL RATBAG FILES. No copyright
infringement is intended. It is simply meant to enhance the DTR
experience by adding another option to the game. If you would like to
have this track posted at your site feel free to do so as it is
intended for public enjoyment. I would ask that you let me know when
doing so in which case I will add a link to your site at the Mad Dog
page.
INSTRUCTIONS
If you have gotten this far, and you obviously have, you have unzipped
the SLake zip file and should find this readme text and a sardis.zip
file. First, make certain that use folder names is turned on in Winzip
and then unzip the sardis.zip to C:/Progam Files/Ratbag/Dirt Track
Racing/data/tracks. If you do not have the data and/or tracks folders
make them. The track should show up in the game. The tracks folder
name will be sardis in case for whatever reason you need that
information. The final step is the easiest one... start the game,
select the track, and have a blast.
ABOUT THE TRACK
Sardis Lake Speedway is a fictional track set in Batesville, MS. near
Sardis Lake, a reservoir on the Tallahatchie river well-known for big
crappie, fine bass fishing, and Ole Miss students getting drunk there.
The track was originally edited and named for N2/99 in the spring of
1999 and that version is available at the Mad Dog site, it is currently
being used in the IDRS N2 dirt series and made an appearance in the
offline UMP Sim Summernationals under a different name. This version
is very similar to the N2/99 version which was based on South Boston
Raceway.
This track is somewhat of a "Frankenstein's monster" using bits and
pieces scavenged from other DTR tracks. The base track is Aztec
Raceway and other files were imported from 34, Boyd, WaKeeny, Eldon,
Paris, uh... well I forget, there were so many tracks, so many files,
and I changed my mind so many times I'm not real sure which ones are in
the final version. Anyhow it does capture the feel of the southern
dirt "bullrings" I grew up travelling to and from with latemodel in tow
and I hope you enjoy the new atmosphere of Ratbag's fabulous track.

We here at Team Blackhole Motorsports need your help. As you all know, the team puts in a great deal of effort to provide you with the latest news and downloads from the sim racing world. However, all of this hardwork comes at a steep cost. Until now we have been able to maintain ourselves but recent site popularity is making this more and more difficult. Last month alone we transferred over 1.3TBs (thats 1,300GBs) of data. The cost to provide that much bandwidth is expensive and we need your help to keep us going. We are kindly asking our patrons to use the PayPal donate button to make donations. The PayPal donation is a secure and easy way to send your donations directly to Team Blackhole Motorsports. Please help us by contributing a donation so we can continue to provide you with the latest news and downloads from the sim world. |
