Frame rate still sucks on this so called work of art. Just as boring as real F1 - I have a 2.2 GHZ, 512 RAM computer, G force 4 128 MB + all other top spec hardware & if it can't pull this crap along at a reasonable rate, what can? Anyway, the game is just as boring as watching real F1 - ZZZZZZZZZZZ. Don't bother to wake me up on the last lap as the finish is always the same order. Nascar Heat & Nascar 2002 are so much better. NASCAR RULES

Real shit this GP4-Patch.More Bucks now than before. MicroProse is kidding us!!!!!!!!!!

Dont bother. It creates more bugs than it fixes. Apparently Infrogrames have withdrawn it saying it wasnt meant to be released anyway??? How can the patch be version 4.0. I think i already own version 4.0. I'm not installing it again until its 4.01 or more!!

This patch, which is still available officially, creates more problems than it solves. Wingman FormulaForceGP wheel no longer works correctly and moves the cursor around the screen at such a rate it's impossible to select any menu's. I would advise against installing this patch.

utter crap gave me more problems than help also made the game stop working from the title screen had to wipe then reinstall

I left this dog for a month or so. I thought maybe this patch would help, no such luck. I thought my new Radeon 9700 Pro would help, again, no help. It runs like crap, and thats if you can get past the flashing menus. I guess they have my money and that's what wanted. I never buy another in this series, that's if after this dog there is another. All I can say is they got me, I'll stick with F1 2002 which runs and looks great.

Still can't run this game....even after I patched it. I wish I had my $44.00 back.Total,bug-filled 'crap'

I had to uninstall the game and reinstall it just to get it to work after the patch. I have OK FPS but the flashing menus and then it gets stuck in a loop and I have to hit the off button on computer and that sucks.

I Have a Xp 2400+, with 256DDRAM and a Geforce 4 Ti4200 8x, and I can't get more than 24 frames, what a game, what a patch !

I got a p4 2,5 ghz, 512 mb DDR ram, geforce 3 ti 128 and the game is running in highest graphics, no problems, i think its the f...... greatest f1 game ever, who cares about f1 2002 it sucks GP4 rules forever and i will always buy the serie, and thanks for making such a GREAT game im spending all my spare time playing it.

i've just read the above messages and think the game is good, f1 games are not how i would like them to be but this one is the best example out there, dispite it's inherant flaws it out shines the rest with ease, frame rates do need to be uped, p4 2.4, 512ddr, fx5600.....every thing up full except track side mapping, it's set to static,i get 29 frames sec, which i think is ok @1260res, a good example of it's type.

I don't know why so many people slate this game. It's the best of it's type. OK it can run slow on some systems and TBH I wish the steering was a bit more sensitive, but until something better comes along then this is THE BEST!

i thought that this patch would suck after reading all the comments but give it a chance its ok guys i dont find any difference between this one and F1 2002

soms story's arent as cheerfull as others about this game. Let metell you the game runs really fine and looks exelent. the patch also workt well. For those out there with a system not running the game read this: The best gamepc is one with amd as your processor, it has 3dsupport and runs the games a lot better then a intel. the mainbord should be with a sis or via chipset and must be a fullatx with a kt400A OR KT600 CHIPSET FROM VIA OR THE 741 OR 748 FROM SIS. the graphicscard is besides the memory the most important thing for playing games like gp4. i've got a geforce4fx5900xt, its expensive but does run well and is a good replacement for the ti series from geforce. the fx5600xt runs to but slower, if you buy a card take atleast one of these i mention or higher. to bad the ti series are not produssed anymore cos they were good cards for a gamestation. My system cost me about 800 euro so it is not to expensive. great gamingtime.

Ok. The patch is useless, at least to me... The game has some bugs, some of them, very serious. I find that when i brake a wheel off (front i think) and head back to the pit, the guy who pushes the car in, pushes it very slowly and FOREVER ! So i have to exit the game and reload or restart. Sometimes a rev light goes out and stays off for a while (dont know why). If u touch at low speed a rayling (in monaco for example), the car almost 'glues' to it (not really a bug, but its rather anoying). But worst of all: I have a FF wheel, the Logitech Momo Racing (an excelent wheel), it started working fine, but after a few GPs the throttle doesnt go all the way in the game even tough i'm pressing the pedal to the fullest. This happens in the middle of a race. when i get back to Windows, i notice that this is also hapening in the calibration screen in the control panel. I'm forced to unplug the Joystick and plug it back on. This only happens with GP4, not with other games... Another bug: I plugged a joypad in the Soundcards game slot and the wheel became controller B in the game, forcing me to recalibrate. But the worst is that the force feedback was gone, not available anymore, i had to unplug the joypad to play the game. I also notice the erratic lighting of options in the menu. The game should also run a lot better than it does. the graphics engine is rather poorly programmed. The game is certanly bugged, and the patch is useless. A shame, i enjoyed playing it... I'm hoping to try other games of the genre.

After trying this on a variety of machines the main problem for the Game Frame rate is crippled if you leave Windows default setting of hardware Acc for SOUND. Disable this in Control Panel and then the Game flies. I haven't installed the Patch yet however I hope it stops GP4 from resetting the Sound Control back to Hardware accelerated which as above cripples the Frame Rates!
