Description: |
Richard Burns Rally Full Audio Upgrade.
Info:
This is a full sound upgrade. Install should be easy as no original files are required.
Only English is included, all localized languages have been removed.
This means you will have to copy any language you want to use from the original RBR Audio.
Any custom co-driver sounds in other languages must be re-installed.
Don't forget to follow the instructions in the installer precisely.
What's New:
Lot's of things are new, in fact it's almost too much to mention.
It's basically a continuation of my two previous sound mods. V2.0 and v2.3
But nearly all of those sounds are now replaced and many new have been added in.
Most of the sound files that have anything to do with a WRC car is sampled from the real stuff.
WRC cars like Collin Mcrae's old Ford Focus. Petter Solbergs 2007 Subaru.
And some from the old Subaru our late Hero and former Champ Richard Burns used.
In addition to all the new sounds I've also experimented with alternative ways of using the sounds system in RBR.
I find the end result quite entertaining and hope you will like it too.
Please read the included Credits txt for more info about this sound mod.

There are several contributors' to this sound mod.
Hdi:
Has made more sound mods than anyone in the RBR community.
You can visit his DL section at BHMS and check out more of his work.
https://bhms.racesimcentral.net/developer/1923
The hardest part of sound editing in RBR is creating "Eng" files.
An Eng file is made from a series of wav files which together composes an engine sound.
This can be time consuming and difficult work. I've included 5 of Hdi's eng files in this mod.
For that reason and because his work adds a lot of excitement to this sound mod.
We owe Hdi much credit and thanks. Not only for his work represented here, but for all the work he's done for the community in the past.
Thank you Hdi.
Alessandro "ziozeus" Lucato:
"ziozeus" Is responsible for the great Real Reid sound mod witch Ive also included.
Its one of my favourites. It gives RBR a more authentic feel and makes it come alive more than any other sound mod I can think of.
This mod is by no means a quick job either. In addition to his great audio editing. "ziozeus" also took time to update and correct many of the pacenotes in RBR.
I think he did a great job with that too, so those files are also included.
Thank you Alessandro.
"Calius" & "ms06s_char"
Are two small, but equally great contributors' to this sound mod.
I used Calius impact screams in v2.3 and they are simply the best, so here they are again.
But you better stay on the road. Because I made really good us of them this time ;-)
ms06s_char" Is the master mind behind the very amusing Homer sound mod.
I've stolen a single file from him. It was the last file I added to the mix and I'm very happy I did.
If you hear someone screams Whoohoo as you fly by in replays, it's Homer.
Big thanks to you both guys.
I also wish to offer my sincere gratitude and thanks to all the other great people in the community -
whose dedication and hard work has been and continues to be an inspiration for others to follow.
I'm glad Im able to contribute to the friendly and sharing RBR community.
Best wishes.

We here at Team Blackhole Motorsports need your help. As you all know, the team puts in a great deal of effort to provide you with the latest news and downloads from the sim racing world. However, all of this hardwork comes at a steep cost. Until now we have been able to maintain ourselves but recent site popularity is making this more and more difficult. Last month alone we transferred over 1.3TBs (thats 1,300GBs) of data. The cost to provide that much bandwidth is expensive and we need your help to keep us going. We are kindly asking our patrons to use the PayPal donate button to make donations. The PayPal donation is a secure and easy way to send your donations directly to Team Blackhole Motorsports. I will try to upload a sample for you later lolo. But for now, trust me and not "Pete" he's just trying to fuck things up. This mod is not the holy grail of RBR sounds. Perhaps well get there someday. But it is, by far, 10 times better than what you get from the original game. And it wasn't made in a day I can tell you that. Not for me, and neither for any of the others, whose work you can enjoy in this mod. So saying simply Poor efforts is not acceptable. Thats just an asshole commenting. Its perfectly OK to comment. What you like and whatnot. But 2 words are rarely enough to make any constructive criticism. And perhaps you should try it for a few hours before you comment. |

Good job 2re... i think the music and the menu sounds are not good. The sound engine in RBR is weird .I still don't hear blowoffvalve and engine pop's right. I've made an audio mod my self using wavelab (blowoffvalve, gearchenge, pops & bangs) with music looped from wrc theme end engine sounds from hdi. If you want to hear it e-mail me. |

Thanks for the critics Fatboy :-) Yes I'd love to hear your mod too. ACDC is my kind of music ;-) I used WRC tunes in mod v2.3 and i still like the menu sounds i made for it. I can hear the blowofvalve fine so try your old Audio.ini with this mod. Anyway since you're able to make some noise your self ;-) use whatever you like from mine. |

I erased completely the existing audio.dat & audio.ini before i installed yours because i think your file is replacing almost everything. I like your .eng files & gearchange though very much. I used bangs & gearchange from rally champ. xtreme and pops from actual recording & cutting it into peaces. BUT... blowoffvalve is a mystery. It sounds different in game (like a bird) while in wavelab sounds right (crispy & loud). I've made one after very patient tuning & eq. -it has to do with the lengh of the wave- that sounds about right. Does it have to be so hard ? |

Not bad-not good. How can I deinstall or what files to delete? |

I'm afraid I didn't like it very much. Pain sound by the co-driver was included in some other crash sounds meaning at times the shouts come from everywhere like he didn't have the seatbelts fastened and rolled freely in the car. I didn't like the gearchange sounds they feel low quality and metallic compared to what I usually use. The tarmac skid suffers from the same low quality feel. In the end I kept a few other sounds, the music and that's it. My soundcard is a SB Live 5.1 model sb0100. |

Hi Guys. Thanks for the last comments. Thats how it should be :-) I use this sound mod my self, not becuase I made it but becuase I like it. I recomend that you read the included text files in the mod. You'll find tips there about how to remove some of the impact screams, or raise/lower the volume on skid sounds etc. The gear change, as with 99% of the sounds are real WRC sounds. Anyway.. This is ovbiously not as good as I meant it to be, so i'll try to make make a new mod from scratch. |

Keep it up 2re, I have to admit it wasnt as great as Id of hoped for. This isn't easy work with any sound modding. Maybe you should team up with Dondi2008? I have to say his mod realy has something, both mixed would be cool! |

People!!!! In rally they DO NOT use blow-off valves!!! They use wastegates i.e. turbochatters. That's why your blow-off sounds like a bird because it actually is a wastegate. There's no WRC or any other rally car in the world with BOV, only WG. Please if you are doing something do it the right way. This is not super mario kart. I think everything should be genuine. |
