The Giant Killer GTR XU-1 was the work of Harry Firth and the Holden engineers with parts availability and price in mind. The cost to do a home grown six cylinder with after market and factory bits was half the cost of shoe-horning an American V8 into the engine bay. This was also the vehicle that the Legendary Peter Brock rode home to glory at Bathurst 1972. |
