Cross Racing Championship Interview |
|
|
SG: So can repairing and tuning of any kind be found in the game, or is it something we wont find?
Invictus: Vehicles can be tuned freely, by slidebarsl, such as the strength of the differential lock, the rate of front and rear wheel drive, breakimpulse, and many other settings.
SG: In 1nsane and in SL we were able to drive where we wanted, how much will we be able to do so in CRC?
Invictus: There will only be circuit courses but things arent that simple as you will find out for yourself.
SG: Is the crashing modell drawn back from SL or kept as it is? I mean for example if we hit a tree will we have to press the repair button right away or will we be able to jolt through the finish line?
Invictus: Parts will get dented, swing about and finally drop off. On the other hand there wont be different objects for engine and so, so we wont be able to lose the engine itself, only by wearing it completely away or we could lose a gear and stuff like that. Hence you will be able to jolt through the finish line with a crashed car.
SG: In SLRR there were 8 modelled cars, how many will there be in CRC?
Invictus: There will be 8 likewise but hopefully similar to 1nsane there will be dozens of cars available for download via the net.
SG: SL wasnt easy to mod, but there were some people undertaking such attempts. How will CRC help these folks fulfilling their needs?
Invictus: Shortly after publishing the game wi will provide the DevKIT, we are currently working on it. With the aid of it you can easily import vehicles into the game. The Z-Modeller will help you integrate a car within minutes.
Paintjobs will be editable with a third-party program. The stickers seen on the screen will be placed onto our cars by the game. In the beginning there will only be a racing number painted on the chassis but as we progress in the carreer mode and get better patronists we will get more and better stickers.
SG: You promise 60 different races. What does that mean exactly?
Invictus: This doesnt reflect the truth exactly. There will be 60 tracks that means there will be more tracks aligned on one terrain. Lets take a terrain. In the beginning there will be an off-road race and through the championship there will be more and more paved segments included in the track and by the end we can race with cras sitting on the fully paved roads.
SG: Even in previous products of yours featured marvelous artificial intelligence. Now you promise even better?
Invictus: You will have to see! :)
SG: In many games the computer cheats.
Invictus: In CRC it will not! Rather it will laern the tracks. By default it knows everything a rookie should know: counter-steering, breaking, ability to look for the optimal curve. Rivals will not be faceless robots, they will all have names and properties. The AI will be dynamic so in the beginning it wont be a Raiknnen but will advance with us. The AI will be able to take revenge, the more we crash it, the less it will care about the race and will rather see us off the track.
SG: You dropped some words about a multiplayer option. Will there be one in the game?
Invictus: This feature is under testing now, but as we did in 1nsane we will solve the problems this time as well.
SG: The game is expected to be in stores this fall, how long down the road are you in development and when can we expect a beta of it?
Invictus: The beta phase deadline is set to next month, we are at 80% done.
SG: Had publishers reported or you are still waiting for the real one?
Invictus: They had but things will be decided upon after the beta is out.
SG: Is there going to be a demo or a trailer video of somekind?
Invictus: After the release of the beta there will be a trailer video available for download on our site. The demo depends on the publisher but we certainly would like to release one before the game is on the shelves.
SG: Will you work through the summer?
Invictus: We will go on vacation in turns. The game will be out by fall for sure.
SG: Thank you for the interview, I wish you a good work in the future!
Invictus: Thank you for the opportunity.

Man!!! I love 1NSANE (for its physics and its modability), and if CRC will be better, than 1NSANE, than it will be the one of the best racing games.......well I guess, that it won't be better, than RBR though :) |

Sounds encouraging! I wish they asked about physics. I loved Insane too but it had center poll physics. This and simple graphics were it's only drawbacks. Sorry to hear there won't be free roaming capability. Wish they would also make an Insane2 with 4 point physics and current graphics. That would be AWESOME!! |

I cannot wait for this game, its coming along nicely by the looks of things, the screenshots of this amazing looking game gives a tasty bite for whats to come for main course, & if we can create our own add-on vehicles, maps, skins it would make the tastiest desert. Lets hope Invictus doesnt make the same mistakes they did with SL & with codemaster poor promotion of the best off-road racing game to date, 1nsane. I wonder if they are implementing game modes like on DZ ORR CTF RTF ect like we have on 1nsane? I just hope they do, GL with this 1 Invictus & if you need any beta testers what better place than your biggest fans @ www.insaneheat.com |
