There are basically two ways to get car skins into Rallisport.. the easy way (uncompressed) or the hard way (compressed).
Both ways require some preparation (a few minutes at most) in order to setup the files for replacement, but you will only ever have to do this once and it makes it far easier to install your skins. I suggest you do this the easy way.. especially as I'm not going to include the hard way in this tutorial at the moment.

You will need to uncompress the Rallisport texture files before you can start installing skins, textures or new models.
Like I said, you will only have to do this once and if you follow the instructions below then nothing should go wrong, and even if it does you can simply rename one file to resolve any problems if you've made a mistake.
(I apologise if some of this seems fairly basic.. but hopefully this will answer any questions anyone has.) |
eg. RalliTemp.. Something like this
You should now have something like this..
The Misc.rff file can be found in your RalliSport game \Archives folder
Copy the Misc.rff file to your temporary Rallisport folder.. like so..
To run the RFFtool..
Start a DOS (command) window..
Move to the drive where you created your temporary Rallisport folder.. eg. To change to your c drive type "C:" (without the quotes).. followed by return
Then move to the folder where your temporary rallisport folder you created.. eg Type the following "cd RalliTemp" (without the quotes) and press return.
Then type "rfftool misc.rff" (again no quotes) and press return to start decompressing the files. eg.
After it is finished
close the window and go back to windows explorer..
If you now look in your temporary RalliSport folder you should now see a load of new folders containing the car texture files etc.. As shown below...
Copy all the folders created by the rfftool
to your root RalliSport Challenge game folder.
Finally rename your misc.rff file, in your Rallisport Challenge game's \Archive folder, to something else. (whatever you do.. don't delete it)
eg..
rename to .old
You are now ready to start installing those car skins....
Simply unzip or copy the .dds texture file you've downloaded into your Rallisport game's \Texture\Car folder, replacing the old one it overwrites.
eg.
And that should be it..
If you have any problems and everything goes wrong.. the files are knackered or the game crashes.. etc..
Then simply rename the Misc.old (or whatever you renamed Misc.rff too) back to Misc.rff and it will override the uncompressed files.
Also you can always leave me a message on the Rallisport Challenge message boards at :
or
Finally.. have fun...
