Something out of the ordinary has just been released for NASCAR Heat. Never before there was a 2 wheel MOD made for this sim, until these days. TEAM PLAYERS have been hard at work once again, but this time they had to deal with absolutely different approach of making physics model. It took much time perfecting the feel of a sports bike, and lots of problems had to be dealt with. Developers were saying it would not be going to be an easy task driving these motor bikes, but after weeks of work they actually made them a lot of fun to drive and feel pretty close to a real motorcycle, and it shows in the beta release. This MOD is work of modding art and and it's a great achievement that a NASCAR game can be turned into a two wheel SportsBike MOD and have leaning AIs!
It's still a beta but it's not clear yet if it ever comes out of beta status. Though TEAM PLAYERS are saying there might be an update if there is any interest.

Holy crap. I never thought I'd have a reason to buy a Nascar game but now I do.
I'm off to the store for some Heat. I hope I can find a copy.
Is it SIM or arcade style play?
How's the online play with Heat?
Get out of your cage and race it like a man!

Haven't done it myself, but online in Heat is excellent from what I hear, and so it should be: Ed Martin made Heat, and he was the guy in charge of the development of the Papyrus online engine back in the "Hawaii"/TEN days.
Heat still can be found in stores, but look in the $9.99 or $4.99 jewel case bargin racks. |

Hey Drillah,
Yes Heat can be found at some stores, Here in the USA I think you can still find it in some Office Max stores (?? I know,, who would have thought).
I also know it can be found on EBay for around $10 (USA)
Although I do not race on line, I know the code is one of the better ones out there (even over most new racing sim's).
You can set up a dedicated IP server and run a league. or you can hook up on IRF (Internet Race Finder) and host or join games. The interface in the game also has a pretty good chat room before you race so it is a very good on line code.
Glad you have an interest in it. It still is not a full blown motorcycle as it is built on Nascar physics so it really does still have 4 wheels, I just fooled the game into thinking there were only 2.
It is a lot of fun to ride, but as the splash screen says in the game, It is an experimental Heat project.
Very close to a motorcycle but not quite... |

Np Punko,
I just won a coy of it off Ebay for $1.
So i'll be trying it out soon enough.
I like any bike game so Im more than happy to try this out.
The more bike games/mods out there the better.
We need a new bike SIM

I had a 1994 Honda VFR750F. Nice to see that first person perspective with my bikes dash faithfully reproduced! Tach shows 6 grand on the screen and zero on the bikes dash. Did one of the developers have a 94-97 VFR?? |

Actially no I do not have a VFR, I do have a Honda 450 that is radically chopped with a hardtail and an 18" over springer though,,, I have ridden bikes almost my whole life, but have switched to the pedal kind in the last 5 years or so, The only thing that "pulls out in front of me now are trees!
That cockpit view was just an image that I found that would work for this mod. The bike is actually something of a pieced together model. I made the 3D model to resemble a Ducatti, the front faring is from another image I found and the cockpit is ,,, well,,,, from your honda,,,
The tach is something else, the way the cockpit moves, it is not possible to put a tach on the "dash" so I had to come up with a unique way of having one so I put it off to the side as a see-through so it would not obscure your view.
As the Title says, It is a Beta,, I actually put this together in about a month so it was done rather quickly. |

I got it running.
Thats pretty impressive since it was made from a car sim.
The onbike view is the only way to play because the bike doens't lean.
I seems to work better on Watkins Glen then it does at Sears Point. It doesn't seem to want to turn at Sears. (I do have the training wheels set to 0).
If your going to be making some more improvements to it, let me know and I'll help test it out.
Great job.
